If you meet certain conditions, you can apply for a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic.
This applies to you if
You are:
- an EU citizen,
- a family member of an EU citizen, or
- a third-country national,

You can apply for a permanent residence permit in the Czech Republic at any time if you meet the legal conditions for obtaining one and plan to reside permanently in the Czech Republic.

Where and how to solve this service
You must apply for a permanent residence permit in person at a Ministry of the Interior office.
You can find contacts to the offices on the Information Portal for Foreigners.
Make an appointment online or by phone beforehand.
How much will you pay
Third-country nationals:
- 2 500 CZK,
- 1 000 CZK for persons under 15 years of age.
EU citizens and their family members:
The administrative fee must be paid by credit card at a Ministry of the Interior office.

What is the benefit of this service
You will receive a permanent residence permit and your status will be similar to that of a Czech citizen in many aspects. You will be issued with a permanent residence card, which is issued to third-country nationals and family members of UK citizens for 10 years (for persons under 15, only 5 years). For EU citizens and their family members, the card is issued for 10 years.
The card can be renewed afterwards, even repeatedly.
Appeal options
You can appeal against the decision within 15 days of the delivery of the decision. You can file the appeal in person or send it by mail (or electronically) to the given office of the MOI CR or to the head office of the MOI.
