In its decision to terminate the validity of a permanent residence permit of such a family member of an EU citizen who himself/herself is not a citizen of the European Union, the Ministry of the Interior will also set a time limit for leaving the country and will issue an removal order to him or her.

The family member is required to leave the country within the defined time limit.  

The Ministry of the Interior proceeds similarly in those cases where the validity of a permanent residence permit was terminated upon request from a family member of a citizen of the European Union.

The family member of a citizen of the European Union is required to leave the country within the defined time limit.

This applies to you if

• You have been included in the Schengen Information System.

• You circumvented the Act on the Residence of Foreign Nationals with the purpose of obtaining a temporary residence permit for residence in the country, particularly if you entered into a sham marriage or if paternity was determined based on a false statement of consent.

• You are a threat to the national security or if you are seriously disrupting the public order, unless an administrative expulsion procedure was started.

• You have not been staying in the country for more than 2 consecutive years.

When to use this service

In its decision to terminate the validity of a permanent residence permit of such a family member of an EU citizen who himself/herself is not a citizen of the European Union, the Ministry will also set a time limit for leaving the country, which will not be shorter than 1 month, and will issue an removal order to him or her.

Appeal options

You can appeal against the decision within 15 days of the delivery of the decision.
